You are entitled to vote for your Local representatives, including your Local Coordinator, Bargaining Unit President, unit representatives and those on committees, such as Health and Safety, Professional Development and Labour-Management.

Members are welcome–and encouraged–to let their name stand for any Local or Bargaining Unit position. Your input is needed!

2026 Local Elections

Three-Year Term — January 1st, 2027 until December 31st, 2029

This year we will be holding elections for various positions on our Local/Bargaining Unit team. Check here often as we will post election updates, including our call for nominations, candidate/voting information and election results.

Key Dates:

  • September 1, 2026 – Call for Nominations Opens
  • September 26, 2026 – Nominations Close
  • October 6, 2026 – Candidate Information Posted (Ticket of Nominations)
  • October 16, 2026 – Election Day

Positions Up for Election
All Local 214 and Bargaining Unit positions are up for election for the 2027–2029 term. Members are encouraged to consider running for a leadership position and helping shape the future of our Local. Specific positions, responsibilities, and nomination requirements will be outlined during the Call for Nominations period.

  • ONA safe return to work / work accommodation representative – 1 Representative
  • Grievance Chair –1 Representative
  • Grievance Committee – 4 Representatives
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee – 3 Representatives
  • Human Rights and Equity – 1 Representative
  • Professional Development Committee – 1 Representative
  • Negotiating Team – 4 Representatives (2 FT and 2 PT)
  • Hospital Association Committee – 3 Representatives
  • Workload and Professional Development (Lead Unit Representative) - 1 Representative
  • Unit Representatives (At least 1-unit representative from the following Units)
    • Mental Health (6E, 6N, Inpatient, Eating Disorders Program)
    • Perioperative Services (Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Operating Room, Day Care Surgery)

Nomination forms must be FULLY completed and RECEIVED by the Election Team no later than September 26, 2026 @16:00 hours.

On October 16, 2026, electronic voting will be open for members from 0730-1930 IF an election is required.

Voting instructions and individual PIN numbers will only be sent to members' personal email addresses.
